Conditions
This is a full-time, fixed-term vacancy, for a period of 36 months, with a possibility of extension and/or permanency. There will also be a Pool running for a period of 18 months from the initial appointment. Applicants deemed suitable will be placed into a pool from which full-time, part-time, fixed term or permanent appointments may be made.

A current (within 6 months) National Police Clearance Certificate and a Working with Children will be required prior to commencement of employment, as per the Department of Culture and the Arts Police Record Screening Policy.

Location
This position will be primarily located at the WA Museum’s Discovery Zone, located in the State Library of Western Australia. You will also be required to attend the Maritime Museum in historic Fremantle, the WA Museum’s Research and Collections facility at 49 Kew Street, Welshpool and the WA Museum Administration Office at 150 William Street, Perth.

Job Description
The Discovery Manager position manages a small team of staff who facilitate the day-to-day operations of the WA Museum’s Discovery Zone, located in the State Library of Western Australia. The Discovery Zone is a unique space for families to enjoy a Museum experience in the heart of the Perth Cultural Centre. As the space has a family focus and current programing has strong links to early childhood, experience in developing and managing early learner programs and activities would be beneficial to this role. The position will also provide advice and input into the development of Early Learner spaces and activities in the New Museum.
