About the Australian Museum
The Australian Museum (AM) operates within the NSW Department of Planning and Environment. The AM is the first museum in Australia and was founded in 1827. The AM provides access, engagement and scientific research to increase our understanding of natural history and culture, particularly of the Australasian region. The AM holds more than 19.5 million objects of biological, geological and cultural collections and develops programs, exhibitions and school and community education initiatives onsite, online and offsite. The AM’s purpose is to make nature, Indigenous cultures and science accessible and relevant to everyone.

About the role
The divisional coordinator provides administrative and support services to facilitate the operations of their assigned division and collaborates effectively with other divisions. Also liaises with other internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the division and is an active participant in Museum projects.
About the Marketing, Communications & Partnerships Division: encompasses professional teams responsible for marketing, communications, digital, corporate partnerships, memberships and the Australian Museum Eureka Prizes science awards. This is a dynamic and fast-paced area that is charged with raising the profile of the AM including marketing and promotional campaigns, promoting the AM Research Institute, corporate communications, digital experience and applications, Customer Relationship Management and fostering the AM’s relationships with partners and members to ensure the financial sustainability of the organisation.
Essential Requirements
As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft suite products
- Knowledge and experience in order to deliver the Key Accountabilities and perform to the Focus Capabilities outlined in the Role Description.
