The AM provides access, engagement and scientific research to increase our understanding of natural history and culture, particularly of the Australasian region. About the Role
The Australian Museum (AM) is looking for an all-rounder with passion, drive and a genuine “can-do” attitude who is confident at managing competing priorities across a variety of projects. You will be liaising with the AM’s valued donors and Government stakeholders and will be responsible for providing outstanding customer service and building positive and effective relationships.
The Donor and Government Relations Coordinator will work closely with the Manager, Strategy and Development and will be a valuable member of our small, but dedicated team seeking to bring about transformation through philanthropy on a range of projects including First Nations activities, scientific research projects, capital works, gallery redevelopment, education projects and public programs.
The role also provides support to the Director, Public Affairs and Development in maintaining strong relationships with all levels of Government. The NSW Government is the AM’s key stakeholder and as such the Donor & Government Relations Coordinator provides effective communications and reporting to NSW Government stakeholders including but not limited to the Minister’s office, the Dept of Premier & Cabinet, Create NSW and other Government depts and agencies.

- Well organised with strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated experience in delivering customer service and interacting effectively with a variety of individuals
- Strong administrative skills fluent in the suite of Office software systems
- Sound financial and basic accounting skills
Essential Requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, communications, marketing and event management or a related field or equivalent work experience
- Computer literacy in Microsoft office suite products essential
