Auckland War Memorial Museum: Connecting through sharing stories of people, lands and seas

Auckland Museum is a much-loved culture and heritage organisation at the heart of Auckland’s identity, committed to outstanding management of its world-class collections, developing and sharing engaging content through its galleries, exhibition, events, educational programmes and the permanent and volunteer staff who tell the Museum’s stories. We are Auckland’s home of commemoration as well as the country’s oldest research institution and a major tourist destination.

Bring your fundraising experience and be part of a dynamic and innovative Development team. The Donor Development Executive will take the lead on developing and maintaining the individual donor and Gift in Wills programme, to initiate and develop trusted long-lasting relationships with individual donors and bequestors. Working collaboratively with teams across the Museum, this role will ensure the successful funding of Museum activities and new developing projects through individual giving and bequests.

To grow the Museum’s donor and bequest revenue and achieve annual fundraising targets, you will get variety, experience, and development opportunities. Use fundraising best practice and relationships through identifying donor prospects, stewarding current donors, and championing the donor voice throughout the Museum.

This role will be pivotal in raising public awareness and contributing towards the financial sustainability of the Museum for the future.

An ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and have knowledge of and track record in working with individual donors and bequestors, using data to help inform decision making.

This is an opportunity to join a leading cultural institution, to support the Museum’s vision and strategy, make the role your own and encourage philanthropic giving.
