Sydney Living Museums cares for 11 of the NSW most important historic houses, museums and their collections: Elizabeth Bay House, Elizabeth Farm, Hyde Park Barracks Museum, Justice & Police Museum, Meroogal, The Mint, Museum of Sydney, Rose Seidler House, Rouse Hill House & Farm, Susannah Place Museum and Vaucluse House. All are listed in the NSW State Heritage Register. The Museum of Sydney and the Hyde Park Barracks on the National Heritage list and the Hyde Park Barracks is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
About the role
The Editorial Officer provides quality support to the Project Manager – Written Content in review of nominated print and online material released by Sydney Living Museums. Under the direction of the Project Manager – Written Content, this role provides assistance with quality assurance and the commissioning, planning, editing, proofreading and production of print and online publications.

Essential requirements the role holder needs:
- Tertiary qualification in English or related field, and equivalent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in editing and proofreading of written content including illustrated and scholarly publications.
- Demonstrated working knowledge and experience in editing principles significant to publication and graphic arts procedures and exhibition text, style issues and print and electronic production processes.
- Experience working with a range of software applications used to manage, develop and report on exhibitions and museum interpretation projects and publication technology.
