The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is a dynamic group of museums comprising of the Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum, the Gold Museum and Narmbool. Our purpose at Sovereign Hill and the Gold Museum is to inspire an understanding of the significance of the central Victorian gold rushes in Australia’s national story, and at Narmbool of the importance of the land, water and biodiversity in Australia’s future.
Sovereign Hill Education provides Victorian Curriculum aligned, tailored, high quality, well researched and engaging hands on education programs delivered to tens of thousands of students and teachers every term. The programs incorporate Education Officer-led sessions for students, professional development opportunities for teachers, and tailored learning programs for education partners in school, community and tertiary sectors.
Our Narmbool Environmental Discovery Program is focused on delivering single day and camp programs on biodiversity and environmental sustainability. The programs are handson field explorations of Narmbool’s 2000 hectares of farm and bushland. Narmbool has on-site accommodation for student groups and the Hugh DT Williamson Learning Centre and the Ferry Arts Centre to support field studies.
We are seeking an experienced educator specialising in Science (particularly biology, ecology or environmental science or related field) or Outdoor Education for the primary role of developing and delivering face-to-face programs on biodiversity and sustainability at Narmbool, and also to contribute to education programs (including in costume teaching) as required from time to time in the Outdoor Museum at Sovereign Hill.
