INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY

The Education Officer will be responsible for the delivery of museum learning program to visiting schools that align our learning aims and educational framework outcomes on the Sovereign Hill Living Museum site.

To be successful you must:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience within an education, museum or similar environment. Knowledge and keen interest in Australian history and/or science, environment and sustainability and demonstrated ability to communicate this to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to design, deliver, implement and evaluate targeted learning programs, education special events and visits, to engages learners in an immersive experience
  • Excellent teaching and classroom management skills in a school, museum or similar environment with a sound knowledge and understanding of Victorian school curricula and an understanding of contemporary learning practices for camps and excursions
  • Provide a supportive, inclusive and stimulating environment for learners, adapting teaching approaches as required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work within a team environment
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
  • Research, write and develop high-quality education resources and interpretive materials to increase our reach onsite, offsite and online
