About the Role
The EMu Data Cleansing Officer is a crucial role that sits within the ICT Collection Systems team. This role is offered on a full-time ongoing basis. The Collections Systems Team manages EMu to provide effective management and access to the Australian Museum’s diverse collection of over 22 million biological, geological and cultural objects.
You will be required to use your prior experience applying metadata schemas and cleansing large datasets in line with agreed standards to contribute to the day-to-day operation of the digital collection management system at the Australian Museum (AM).
About You
We are seeking a unique professional with great attention to detail, a passion for data and a growth mindset to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Your Knowledge & Experience
- Experience and expertise in data cleansing, preferably in a museum or natural history context.
- Data management experience including implementation of data standards, databasing and data import.
- Knowledge of large museum datasets preferably of both cultural and taxonomic nature.
- Prior experience with EMu will be an advantage.
