About the Role

The EMu Database Project Support Coordinator is a crucial role that sits within the ICT Collection Systems team. This role will be critical in delivering system enhancements to support the Australian Museum’s (AM) Collection Enhancements Project and Collections Online project, as well as contributing to continuous improvement projects in other areas. This temporary role is offered as a full-time project-based role, till 30 June 2024.

Use your prior project management experience to enhance the Australian Museum’s (AM) digital collection management system, EMu, and the integrations with internal and external digital asset management, preservation, and discovery systems, including Fotoware and the Atlas of Living Australia.

About You

We are seeking someone with highly developed problem-solving and analytical skills and proven experience in delivering user-centered solutions in a Museum or natural history context.

To be successful in the role, you will be able to demonstrate;

Proven ability to prepare technical specifications and user documentation.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Advanced skills, experience, and expertise in database manipulation and management
  • Delivery of projects/services using agile frameworks.
  • Managing large datasets preferably of a taxonomic and/or ecological nature.
  • Possession of expert knowledge and extensive experience in developing, maintaining, and modifying multi-disciplinary museum collection management databases for collection management, including audit and valuation, exhibition and conservation-related processes, and online products.
  • Managing vendors and their associated performance delivering professionalmanaged services.

Essential requirements

  • Tertiary degree or equivalent experience in information technology or relevant discipline.
