At Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum, we present the mining, social and cultural heritage of the central Victorian gold rush period and its impact on Australia’s history.

The Steam Operations Department operates and maintains 2 boilers, a number of steam engines, association Gold Mining machines and a dual inclined tramway.

The Engine Driver is responsible for maintaining the Steam Operations and Inclined Tramway in good working order so as to provide a working exhibit for the visitors.

To be successful in this role you must have an Intermediate Boiler (BI) or Boiler Open (BO) licence and/or Steam Engine (ES) Licence. You will be enthusiastic, confident with public speaking and have excellent customer service skills. You must be able to work across a flexible roster including weekends and willing to work in a physically demanding location including dusty and hot working areas.
