About the Australian Museum

The Australian Museum (AM) operates within the NSW Department of Justice and was founded in 1827 and is the first museum in Australia. The AM provides access, engagement and scientific research to increase our understanding of natural history and culture, particularly of the Australasian region. The AM holds more than 18 million objects of biological, geological and cultural collections and develops programs, exhibitions and school and community education initiatives onsite, online and offsite. Entomology Technical Officer

To increase the impact of science at the Australian Museum by undertaking technical work supporting the Entomology Collection Manager in implementing an innovative collection-based research infrastructure program in entomology. Knowledge of insects is essential.  Note that this is not a research position.

Herpetology Technical Officer

The purpose of the role is to increase the impact of science at the Australian Museum by undertaking technical work supporting the Terrestrial Vertebrate Collection Manager and the Curator of Amphibian and Reptile Conservation Biology in implementing an innovative collection-based research infrastructure program in herpetology. The position has a particular focus on reptiles. Knowledge of amphibians is an advantage. Note that this is not a research position.
