ABOUT THE POSITION:

This position is accountable for optimising event operations delivery and productivity, which delivers exceptional visitor and customer experiences through the use of Museums Victoria venues for consumer, trade and business venue hire.

Notable skills and experiences:

  1. Substantial experience in the operational, management and planning requirements of major commercial venues and/or major events industry
  2. Demonstrated experience in managing or leading a team of staff, including the ability to motivate and determine appropriate training and skills development;
  3. Demonstrated good working knowledge of current building codes, fire safety, risk management, and regulatory requirements, including Occupational Health and Safety, Food Handling & Preparation and Liquor Licensing;
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a small team;
  5. Demonstrated ability to identify and implement systems improvement and change processes in support of organisational goals;
  6. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and work in an effective and timely manner and to work within a diverse organisation and across multiple business units;
  7. Proficient computer skills and experience including Microsoft Office product suite and Events Perfect, or similar, events software packages;
  8. Relevant licences or a willingness to undergo training, in areas such as elevated work platforms, forklifts, test and tag, etc.
