Auckland Museum is a much loved organisation at the centre of Auckland’s identity, committed to developing and sharing engaging content through its galleries, exhibition, events and educational programmes.
We are seeking an Event Sales Manager to join our Commercial Events and Tourism team. The role is responsible for the promotion and selling of the Museum as a venue for hire to the Auckland market. This is a proactive, outward facing role planning, co-ordination and delivery of a wide variety of events, including cocktail parties, gala dinners, presentations, product launches, and weddings.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- previous experience in driving sales in event, hospitality or related industries
- a high level of networking skills and a passion for building and maintaining relationships
- exceptional communication skills and the ability to establish rapport with a wide variety of people
- understanding of financial reports including budgets and forecasts relating to sales activity
- a strong commitment to working as part of a team
