The Events and Ceremonies team coordinate and deliver the Anzac Day and Remembrance Day national commemorations, annual minor ceremonies and events and VIP visits to the Memorial.

Under general direction, working both individually and as a member of the team, the Events and Ceremonies Officer will coordinate VIP visits to the Memorial, and undertake assigned ceremonial and event project work. They are also required to establish effective and productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, contractors and third party agencies.

The position requires demonstrated recent experience in events and/or project management; good administration and communication skills and attention to detail; stakeholder management experience; and the ability to prioritise and work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Additional notes:    

  • This role is required to work outside of core business hours, on weekends and public holidays as required.
  • There are no media or marketing aspects to this position.
  • A written task will be included in the recruitment process.
  • An order of merit may be established to fill similar positions within the next 18 months.

Responsibilities:

  • Under general direction and working within established frameworks, coordinate assigned VIP visits and allocated ceremonies/events project work.
  • Prepare documentation and correspondence for both internal and external distribution.
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, contractors, and third party agencies.
  • Represent the Memorial as required and manage client and stakeholder expectations.
  • Actively participate and contribute to team and section meetings, prioritising work and sharing information and ideas.
  • Undertake manual handling tasks on a wide range of projects including but not limited to electrical and audio visual equipment, bollards, barriers and other items used for events and ceremonies.
