Sydney Living Museums cares for 12 of the NSW most important historic houses, museums and their collections: Elizabeth Bay House, Elizabeth Farm, Government House, Hyde Park Barracks Museum, Justice & Police Museum, Meroogal, The Mint, Museum of Sydney, Rose Seidler House, Rouse Hill House & Farm, Susannah Place Museum and Vaucluse House. All are listed in the NSW State Heritage Register. The Museum of Sydney and the Hyde Park Barracks on the National Heritage list and the Hyde Park Barracks is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

About the role

The Exhibitions Loans Officer coordinates the inward loans program in accordance with Sydney Living Museums policies and government regulations and works closely with the Project Manager – Exhibitions & Travelling Exhibitions, and the project teams, to ensure the application of best practice legal, administrative, logistical and physical management of objects on loan for the purposes of exhibitions, travelling exhibitions and interpretation projects.

The Exhibitions Loans Officer coordinates the inward loans program for Sydney Living Museums. The role works closely with multidisciplinary project teams across multiple sites to ensure the application of best practice legal, administrative, logistical and physical management of objects on loan for the purposes of exhibitions, travelling exhibitions and interpretation projects. Please describe the skills and abilities you would bring to the role referencing your knowledge of and experience in current registration standards and procedures.

Please provide an example of a successful exhibition where you played an integral part in processing loan objects for display. Describe the communication and negotiation skills you employed to secure these contractual loans with internal and external stakeholders. What was the most valuable lesson you took away from that project?
