Duties
The Exhibitions & Loans Registrar works as part of the larger Registration team and has a range of responsibilities, under limited direction, for aspects of work of the Exhibitions & Loans Team, including loans, transport, permanent exhibition changeovers and temporary and travelling exhibitions.
As the Exhibitions & Loans Registrar, you will supervise a small team and undertake the following duties:
- Ensuring that you have sufficient supervision, instruction and equipment to undertake your work safely.
- Supervision and delegation of inward and outward loans.
- Coordination of the packing and transport of objects into and out of the Museum.
- Provision, to the Head Registrar, of information on valuations for inward/outward loans, exhibitions and travelling exhibitions.
- Applying and maintaining loans, transport and insurance procedures and ensuring accurate and timely information input into the NMA collection management databases.
- Coordinating loan changeover installations and de-installations in the Museum’s Permanent Galleries, Temporary Galleries and Travelling exhibitions.
- Coordinating the object installation and de-installation of the above exhibitions.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for any vacancies, applicants must:

Notes
This position involves physical activity such as lifting and accessing objects at height. A current driver’s licence is desirable. The National Museum of Australia has moved to the Communications and the Arts portfolio.
