Position Description

The Exhibitions Support Officer is responsible for providing general administrative and operational support to the Exhibition Projects and Interpretation team. This includes coordinating monthly progress reports, recording and distributing meeting minutes, collating exhibition proposals, assisting with procurement processes and managing invoices. This position provides secretariat services for the Museum’s Major Projects Steering Committee.

The Exhibitions Support Officer will work closely with the two Exhibition Coordinators and the Exhibitions Officer to deliver straightforward projects within the permanent galleries and the Hall. The position involves some hands on work to assist in maintenance and changeover processes within the permanent galleries, and the role has primary responsibility for coordinating repairs to exhibition components. The position also assists in the coordination of travelling exhibitions, including confirmation of venues for touring exhibitions, development of touring manuals, logistical support, and installation and deinstallation support at touring venues.
