The Museum has an exciting opportunity for a professional to join the Facilities and Security business unit as Facilities Manager in the Corporate Operations Division. The Museum is seeking to engage an experienced facility manager with significant knowledge in the management of base building infrastructure. The position works under broad direction, reporting to the Head of Facilities and Security. The role will increase the maturity of facilities management practices in the Museum, managing the application of risk-based facilities management practises, developing policies and procedures, managing large procurements for services and materials, managing risk-based lifecycle planning and the Museum’s property leases.
The key duties of the position include:
The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of base building facilities management, project management and high value Commonwealth procurement practices. You will have highly developed communication skills and be proficient in engaging and influencing others. Working collaboratively, you will achieve results by building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be able to use judgement and initiative in risk-based decision-making and have strong analytical capabilities to resolve complex problems surrounding facilities management. Your objectivity in relation to risk based facilities maintenance will help drive positive outcomes in both reliability and cost saving. A strategic thinker, you will focus on continuous improvement across the Museum’s property portfolio regarding presentation, maintenance, reliability and maximising asset lifecycle.
The Facilities Manager will be experienced in managing a small team of staff including coaching, mentoring and performance management as required. They will be a team player, focused on outcomes-based performance and results driven by the 364 day operation of the Museum.
