Jennifer Storer, new Deputy Director, Canterbury Museum

The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG) has today said farewell to Deputy Director Jennifer Storer, who is leaving the museum to take up a position in New Zealand.

Her new role will be Deputy Director at the Canterbury Museum in Christchurch.

Canterbury Museum has many similarities with TMAG and is renowned for its natural and human history collections, with its Antarctic Gallery being a particular highlight.

Minister for the Arts Vanessa Goodwin used the occasion to pay tribute to Jennifer for her significant contribution to TMAG.

“I thank Jennifer for her dedication and commitment to TMAG, particularly for the important role that she played as Acting Director in running the museum over 15 months,” Dr Goodwin said.

Jennifer has been at TMAG for almost twelve years. She started as the inaugural Registrar before undertaking important roles as Project Manager on the TMAG Redevelopment Project, Deputy Director, and Acting Director in 2014 and 2015.

“It has been an honour to work with all the wonderful staff and volunteers, membership groups and Trustees at TMAG and I am proud of what we have achieved together, particularly with regards to the redevelopment of the city site,” Jennifer said.

“I am looking forward to what lies ahead in my new role at the Canterbury Museum.”
