ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Finance Officer, Purchasing is responsible for the timely, efficient and accurate processing of procurement requirements, and assisting with the processing of financial accounts and asset transactions in line with established compliance requirements.

The successful applicant will have:

  1. Demonstrate a good knowledge of procurement strategies and processes and the ability to effectively communicate procedures and requirements to non-finance staff.
  2. Have experience working with Microsoft Great Plains or similar accounting package software.
  3. Be proficient with MS Excel and an ability to navigate other Windows applications to ensure data integrity and to quickly learn new skills.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team, as well as having the initiative to work independently in solving problems and remaining calm under pressure.
  5. Display a strong sense of responsibility, honesty, integrity and accountability.
  6. Have a customer focussed and organised approach to work with an attention to detail and accuracy.
  7. Demonstrated experience in processing financial transactions in line with established policies, procedures and compliance requirements.
  8. Ability to work methodically and accurately with both manual and computerised records.
  9. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff.
