Duties

The Australian War Memorial combines a shrine, a world-class museum, and an extensive archive. The Memorial’s purpose is to commemorate the sacrifice of those Australians who have died in war. Its mission is to assist Australians to remember, interpret and understand the Australian experience of war and its enduring impact on Australian society.

The Finance Section manages all aspects of the Memorial’s financial systems, including Budgets and Management Accounting, Financial Reporting and Analysis, and Procurement and Contracts. It is led by the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

The System Administration function is managed by the Budgets and Management Accounting Team within the Finance Section. Server and technical application support is undertaken by the Information Technology team.

The Finance system platform is provided by Technology One, with a number of third party systems’ interfaces.

This technical role works under limited direction, with reasonable autonomy and accountability. The work includes end user system administration, documentation, training, end of month and end of year processes, functionality design, oversight of functionality enhancement implementation, and co-ordination of testing.

The position is a liaison role between the Finance and IT sections and external consultants in regard to system and maintenance issues.

The work also includes the provision of a helpdesk service, assisting in the resolution of system and processing problems and provides other support as required to support business plan activities.
