The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is Australia’s leading independent museum organisation. Our purpose is to inspire an understanding of the significance of the central Victorian gold rushes in Australia’s national story.
We collect, conserve and interpret the mining, social, cultural and environmental heritage of the Ballarat region through our world-famous Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum, the Gold Museum Ballarat, Sovereign Hill Hotel, the Blood on the Southern Cross sound and light show and our pastoral property, Narmbool.
The Corporate and Financial Services Division is integral to Sovereign Hill Museums Associations ongoing operations and although it is outside the glare of the public, the work undertaken by the division is essential to the organisations capacity to function efficiently and effectively. The Corporate Service Team consists of approximately 20 staff covering Administration, Accounts, Payroll, People and Performance and Information Technology.
An opportunity now exists for an 8 month maternity leave replacement position on a part-time basis (30 hours per week).
Reporting to the Administration Manager, the Finance/Reconciliation Officer is responsible for providing accurate and timely bank and accounts reconciliations within the Administration Department in order to assist the team in providing effective and efficient financial reporting to the organisation.
We are seeking someone with at least 5 years accounting/finance experience, a working knowledge of MS Office and computerised accounting packages, the ability to work independently and in a team displaying high level attention to detail.
Qualifications in Business, Office Administration or Accounting are essential.
