First Nations Protocols Consultation Series and ICIP Digital Workshops, Creative Australia,  2026

Creative Australia have engaged Parallax Legal to deliver a series of workshops and consultations focused on Creative Australia’s Protocols for using First Nations Cultural and Intellectual Property in the Arts and Digital Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP).

The delivery has two components:

1. First Nations Protocols Consultation – consultation sessions seeking the views and experiences of First Nations peoples and others working with First Nations artists and communities to inform the new iteration of Creative Australia’s First Nations Protocols to reflect best practice and address emerging issues, including the use of generative AI and further uses and risks relating to Digital Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP).
2. Digital ICIP Workshop – practical learning sessions designed to build First Nations artists’ and arts workers’ knowledge and confidence in protecting ICIP in digital environments, including social media, digital licensing and generative AI.

The two sessions will be held on the same day and at the same venue, allowing participants to attend either session or both.
