Mazoe Ford, Sydney students get insight into the future of careers and technology at Powerhouse Museum, ABC News, 27 October 2016
Hundreds of students from schools in west and south-west Sydney have spent the day learning about the jobs of the future.
They have been using drones, 3D printers, virtual reality goggles, augmented reality equipment and various types of robots to understand where workplace technology is heading in the years to come.
The STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and maths) pop-up activity hub at The Powerhouse Museum is part of the Spark Festival to connect technology, people and ideas.
Some of the students who attended came from disadvantaged schools and had never seen or had the chance to test futuristic gadgets before.
“Young people just love playing with technology,” Liz Jakubowski from the CSIRO said.
