Museums Victoria seeks a General Manager for the Scienceworks Museum. The General Manager Scienceworks Museum is responsible for providing strategic, business and operational leadership to Scienceworks Museum and to deliver on Museums Victoria’s overall purpose, vision and strategy.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The General Manager Scienceworks will have operational responsibility for the Scienceworks Museum and will work collaboratively with other members of the Executive Team to ensure effective and efficient operations at these sites.
This role will have primary accountability for visitation at these sites. This role will provide leadership to ensure high quality experiences to all visitors to the Museum and precinct ensuring that the precinct’s identity/brand is delivered in a way that is consistent with the vision for Museums Victoria; and contributes to the Museum being regarded as a leading cultural, educational and tourism destination.
Some Notable skills and Experiences:
- Broad, multi-disciplinary organisational leadership experience, including a track record of achievement in the development and management of a major cultural or tourist attraction.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a range of complex commercial activities and achieve excellent financial returns.
- Tertiary qualification in business, management or business-related discipline.
- A high level of expertise relevant to the management of a large museum and a sound understanding of contemporary trends in cultural institutions and the Museum sector.
- Ability to build strong cross-functional and external stakeholder relationships.
