The Governance Officer reports directly to the Governance Manager and is responsible for a range of activities, including, but not limited to:

  1. Under direction of the Governance Manager, coordinate Executive Management Group (EMG) and Corporate Management Group (CMG) agendas and papers;
  2. Provide secretariat support for EMG and CMG meetings;
  3. Undertake the role of complaints coordinator, including allocation, tracking, and reporting;
  4. Provide information and training in relation to Complaints handling procedures;
  5. Provide administrative support to the Governance Manager, Legal Manager and other staff within the Governance section as required;
  6. Under direction of the Governance Coordinator:
    a. Coordinate visitation data collection and reporting
    b. Coordinate the delivery of the Museum’s visitor survey program, including preparation of visitor surveys, coordination of survey results and management of the survey database
    c. Collate visitor feedback and compile monthly visitation reports for CMG/EMG
  7. Prepare visitation reports for a range of corporate reporting functions; and support the development of corporate KPIs, including visitation estimates for the Portfolio Budget Statements and performance targets for the Museum’s Corporate Plan;
  8. Assist with preparation of papers, including proof reading and editing, and other duties as required in relation to meetings of the Museum’s Council and committees of Council;
  9. Maintain Governance information resources, including distribution lists and databases;
  10. Review and update content on Museum Central (intranet) that supports the work of the Governance Unit including information about Council and Council committees, EMG and CMG;
  11. Undertake research tasks to support the work of the Governance Unit and assist in the preparation of correspondence, briefing material, reports and proposals as required.
