ABOUT THE POSITION:

The position is accountable for providing business support to the Capital Program Office on a range of budget and business management issues affecting both the project and facilities teams. The position is accountable for the provision of support in identifying, applying for and administering external grants and partnerships and for co-ordinating financial reporting. The position is also to assist with the preparation of tender and contact documents in line with Department and organisational guidelines.

Key Selection Criteria:

  1. Demonstrated experience in applying analytical and conceptual skills to develop prepare and manage grant applications.
  2. Sound experience in development, monitoring and reporting of budgets.
  3. High level verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write persuasively and liaise and negotiate effectively with senior management, internal peers and external stakeholders.
  4. Proven capacity to manage work activities and stakeholders with competing demands and the capacity to work with a variety of individuals and groups.
  5. Some knowledge of current issues associated with grant funding and philanthropy in Australia.
  6. Advanced skills in the use of spreadsheets, databases and word processing.
  7. Experience working within a project management office or facility division within government or a private organisation.
  8. An understanding of project delivery and contract administration requirements from a capital project perspective.
  9. The successful incumbent is required to undergo a National Police Records Check and be assessed as suitable for employment (new employees are required to meet this cost).
  10. Qualifications in project management and experience in delivering capital projects would be advantageous.
