THE OPPORTUNITY
Museums Victoria, Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking a Grants Officer, Development. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about grant-writing and fundraising to join the Development team to secure and service substantial grants from trusts and foundations and major donors for Museums Victoria’s priority initiatives. The successful candidate will possess exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence outcomes. The candidate will possess excellent research skills, enjoy strategic alliance-building and working in a collaborative and consultative manner with internal and external stakeholders.
Working with Museums Victoria Development team, some core functions of this position include:
- Author funding proposals and secure philanthropic funding from trusts and foundations for priority projects, exhibitions, programs, acquisitions and other MV initiatives to achieve annual income targets.
- Monitor and service grant and funding deliverables and ensure compliance by MV internal departments for project delivery.
- Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, receipting and financial tracking with the MV Finance department as well as the necessary contract approvals for all successful funding submissions.
Relevant skills and attributes:
- Demonstrated ability to drive and achieve financial targets: proven experience in the development and delivery of funding / grant submissions including briefs, proposals, contracts, budgets, reporting and servicing of agreements, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications.
- A proven ability to apply a high level of (written and verbal) communication and presentation skills to confidently convey ideas and information and successfully engage a broad range of stakeholders, individuals and organisations.
