Greek Independence to be celebrated at Australia’s National Museum, Neoskosmos, 7 April 2026
The Embassy of the Hellenic Republic in Australia is set to host a special event at the National Museum in Canberra that will celebrate Greece’s independence.
The event will be held on 18 April and will centre on the bicentenary of the exodus of Missolonghi (10-11 April 1826) with the theme of ‘Missolonghi – The Road to Freedom: History, Art and Philhellenism’.
It will feature two keynote presentations on the significance of the Greek revolution, as delivered by Dr Spiridoula Demetriou and historian Jim Claven.
