First Nations Identified Position – must be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent

The Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences sits at the intersection of art, design, science and technology and plays a critical role in engaging communities with contemporary ideas and issues.  The Head of Collections, First Nations is a newly created role that will position the museum as a cultural leader through operational planning and the organisational implementation of cultural competency.

Collaborating across the museum, you will lead the development of polices and standards for the management of tangible and intangible First Nations cultural material held by the Museum, in line with the Museum’s Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP) protocols and policy, in accordance with international best practice, and First Nations community expectations. You will have extensive collections management experience and a proven record of establishing and sustaining strong organisational and community networks.
