The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is seeking an experienced manager to lead our Fundraising and Partnerships initiatives across our museum.
As the Head of Fundraising, Sponsorships and Partnerships, the successful applicant will be required to develop, maintain and grow fundraising activities, sponsorship and our membership base. This role will drive the development and implementation of a new fundraising strategy across the areas of sponsorship and philanthropy and lead our relationship with key corporate partners, foundations and private donors. Focus areas include workplace and regular giving, corporate sponsorship, major donor acquisition/retention/cultivation, community/third party fundraising, partnering with foundations and grants bodies, online giving, email appeals and bequests will be well regarded.
The role is required:
- To support and deliver the Fundraising and Sponsorship function for the Association. From events and activations at the Outdoor Museum or Narmbool, to the management and delivery of applications, this role will also encompass new entities such as the Centre for Rare and Forgotten Trades (CRAFT) and Australian Centre for Goldrush Collections
- To provide input into the development of the Fundraising and Sponsorship Strategy, that will support fundraising towards both capital investment and operational funding support for the non-profit organisation.
- To actively develop submissions for grant programs and sponsorship pitches
- To manage the day to day communication to key stakeholders and partners
- To implement the Fundraising and Sponsorship strategy in a collaborative and best practice manner and in line with the brand of Sovereign Hill.
- To grow funds raised by developing, maintaining and growing fundraising.
- To grow funds and partnerships via the attraction of sponsorship to Sovereign Hill assets, both physical and non-physical (for example events)
The ideal applicant will be required to demonstrate:
- Fundraising experience or the equivalent in the sales and marketing area or; Demonstrable stakeholder engagement experience
- Exemplary communication abilities with engaging interpersonal style
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail
- Quick thinker and ability to make decisions under pressure
Additionally, a Bachelor’s degree in communication, public relations, journalism or related/applicable area will be highly regarded.
