The Lang Walker Family Academy will be home to a dynamic STEM-focused school learning program developed and delivered at Powerhouse Parramatta. Opening in 2025 the Lang Walker Family Academy includes accommodation for up to 60 students and teachers to stay on site for immersive STEM experiences plus four state-of-the-art education spaces. Academy programs will include STEM camps for regional and remote NSW and Western Sydney students, bespoke one-day programs, school holiday workshops and in-schools visits, plus a Digital Academy to provide access to STEM learning pathways and engagement.

The Head of the Lang Walker Family Academy will lead strategic planning and oversee design of the learning activities at Powerhouse Parramatta from 2025 and will design and oversee associated learning program delivery from 2022. The role will be pivotal to activating and engaging Lang Walker Family Academy partners, including Western Sydney University, national and international STEM organisations and leading-tech companies, local government with a focus on Blacktown, Campbelltown, Canterbury-Bankstown, Liverpool, Penrith and Parramatta. Establishing long term partnerships with local government, industry and across the education sector will be crucial to the success of the role and associated programs.
