The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is seeking a creative strategic thinker with experience working with individual donors and Trusts and Foundations to help shape a fresh approach to giving at one of Australia’s iconic not-for-profit organisations.

We are looking for someone who can build networks, likes being in at the start of an amazing journey, and knows what it takes to raise funds for ongoing programs, new projects and future capital campaigns, to join our leadership team and share our powerful story and help grow our impact.

The role will be instrumental in building support for programs across the Living Museum and the soon to be opened Australian Centre for Rare Trades and Arts and the Australian Centre for Gold Rush Collections.

The Head of Development will grow philanthropic activities and our membership base. This role will drive the development and implementation of a new Development strategy and lead our relationship with key corporate partners, foundations, and private donors.

Must haves:

  • Exemplary communication abilities with engaging interpersonal style
  • Ability to prepare compelling proposals and other similar materials
  • Demonstrated high level understanding of contemporary fundraising practices

We offer a flexible workplace and remote/hybrid work for suitable roles. This role would suit someone who can travel to Ballarat at least once a week and on occasion for events.
