Role Purpose:

The Head of Development works closely with the SA Museum Foundation and is responsible for developing and administering the SA Museum’s Fundraising Programme. The role requires developing key external relationships by cultivating individual, corporate and trusts to support for Museum activities. The position also requires identifying Fundraising opportunities with both State and Federal Governments. The role will identify funding for both revenue and capital purposes. The role aims to strengthen the organisation’s overall long-term fundraising capacity and has primary responsibility for establishing and implementing the infrastructure needed to grow the SA Museum Foundation’s fundraising capability through the solicitation of major gifts, special events, and corporate and foundation support. The role aims to expand and diversify the SA Museum’s donor base/pipeline and work closely with Museum Departments and staff to secure funding for new initiatives.

Special Conditions:

  • The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department’s Performance Management Program.
  • The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
  • Some out of hours and intrastate travel.
  • This role requires a working with children check.
  • This role requires a National Criminal History check.
