Position Description

The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) celebrates the screen in its myriad forms. Situated in Federation Square in the heart of Melbourne, ACMI hosts cinemas, exhibition spaces, galleries, a Mediatheque and archive plus a shop and café. Supported by funding through the Victorian Government, in only a decade it has become the world’s most visited museum of the moving image, attracting over 1.3 million visitors in 2015.

Reporting directly to the Director CEO and a member of the ACMI Executive team, the Head of Film Programs will lead the vision for our cinema programming and for our engagement with the film industries. With a core focus on the two state-of-the-art cinemas, and working with our many festival partners, you will deliver a vibrant year round program of screenings and events which celebrates contemporary screen culture across its forms but with the art of filmmaking at its core.

The successful candidate will bring outstanding experience in delivering a bold and dynamic vision and connecting with significant audiences. You will be collaborative and enjoy working as part of an executive team. You will be a strong leader and an exceptional manager, and you will be someone who embraces risk taking and enjoys experimenting with new ideas. If successful, you can expect to become part of a talented, committed and creative team of people with a passion for film and digital media, in an organisation where our visitor experience and our ability to work as a team are critical to our success.

This role is an opportunity to further career in a fast paced, innovative and collaborative environment.
