Museums Victoria is seeking a Head of Finance (Operations) to provide strategic leadership to the Finance Department and assist Museums Victoria in achieving its strategic directions through effective and timely financial advice, efficient delivery of service, application of specialist knowledge, resolution of complex issues by representing Museums Victoria to external stakeholders. The primary accountability of the position is to provide strategic leadership, advice, systems controls, financial reporting and services which will ensure the ongoing financial viability of Museums Victoria within a sound Corporate Governance framework and to deliver finance and administrative systems that meet user needs in the most efficient, effective and economic way.

Professional Experience
- Extensive leadership, financial management, accounting and administrative experience preferably in both Government and private sectors, including knowledge of commercial operations planning and investment practices
- Expert knowledge of accounting and audit standards
- Experience in the implementation, development and maintenance of computerised accounting systems.
Lead People
- Demonstrates a leadership style that fosters a co-operative and collegiate approach, within the Department and with other Departments
- Gives and receives constructive feedback
- Builds positive working relationships throughout Museums Victoria and with stakeholder groups
- Enhances and manages the performance of individual staff
