About the agency
Sydney Living Museums cares for 11 of the NSW most important historic houses, museums and their collections: Elizabeth Bay House, Elizabeth Farm, Hyde Park Barracks Museum, Justice & Police Museum, Meroogal, The Mint, Museum of Sydney, Rose Seidler House, Rouse Hill House & Farm, Susannah Place Museum and Vaucluse House. All are listed in the NSW State Heritage Register. The Museum of Sydney and the Hyde Park Barracks on the National Heritage list and the Hyde Park Barracks is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

About the role
Lead, manage and implement Sydney living Museums’ overarching marketing and communications strategies that meet visitation, audience development and sustainable revenue objectives for Sydney Living Museums, its properties, collections, exhibitions, programs and commercial activities to position, promote and protect the agency’s brand.

The Head of Marketing & Communications provides leadership and direction to marketing and communications strategies which drive visitation, grow audiences and sustainable revenue, increase awareness and the public profile of the institution, and reinforce and strengthen public perceptions of SLM’s distinctive brand.

  1. Provide two specific examples from the past five years demonstrating your successful and effective experience at managing, implementing and evaluating strategic marketing and public relations programs that increase visibility, participation and engagement with different market segments.
  2. The Head of Marketing & Communications is accountable for developing digital marketing strategies; provide an example from the past five years where you have had accountability in this area, and that exemplifies the effectiveness of your capabilities in the digital domain.
