Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking a Head, Society & Technology to provide leadership within the Society & Technology Department in achieving Museums Victoria’s strategic directions through effective and efficient delivery of service, application of specialist knowledge, resolution of complex issues and effective risk management and by representing Museums Victoria to stakeholders.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
The primary responsibility of Head, Society & Technology is accountable for leading the production of high-quality research of international repute, developing and managing the collection as an accessible research and archival resource, and developing engaging learning experiences through museum exhibitions and digital platforms in the field of society, culture, history and technology .
Notable skills and experiences:
- Strong skills and experience in managing people and the ability to successfully lead multi-disciplinary teams.
- Leadership of research, collection development, collection management and community projects in areas relating to society, culture, history and technology.
- Demonstrated ability to plan strategically, formulate business plans and budgets and manage resources.
- Highly developed communication skills which have been successfully used to engage with key stakeholder groups, promote and advocate for projects and programs.
- Evidence of strong networks and working in partnerships locally, nationally and internationally.
