Australia’s largest public museum organisation is seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor to provide support for the management of Museums Victoria’s health and safety systems.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
This position is accountable for providing timely, professional advice and support to ensure that Museums Victoria (MV) maintains an effective health and safety management system and continues to foster a culture of safe work across the organisation.
Working within the Health, Safety & Wellbeing team, key duties of this role include:
- Assist the Head – Health, Safety & Wellbeing with the implementation of MV’s Health and Safety Management system including undertaking investigations, report writing as well as the implementation of training and other support systems for both employees and managers.
- Provide technical and strategic advice to assist managers and staff in relation to the identification of hazards and implementation of appropriate risk controls to support systems of work.
- Provide advice and support on the design and delivery of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) related training across the organisation.
- Undertake hazard inspection, risk assessments and audits where required in order to support risk minimisation strategies.
- Provide strategic advice and assist with the development of OHS policies, procedures and work instructions.
- Assist the OHS team with the implementation of departmental safety initiatives as well as goals & objectives aligned with the OHS business plan.
- Encourage and support a culture of safe work across the organisation through the provision of mentoring, support and advice with a focus on strengthening stakeholder relationships.

OTHER INFORMATION:
Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing, this is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced health & safety advisor to fulfill this vacancy. The successful applicant will be highly organised, deadline-driven with established track record within health & safety.
This role is a full-time, ongoing position. The salary on offer is $85,279 per annum (Base of grade) plus 10% superannuation.
