About the role
The role of Heritage & Collections Officer is central to the ongoing care of MoAD’s collections. The role has critical part in implementing the Collection Management Procedures, and meeting MoAD’s obligations and industry standards as custodians of a national collection.
- Assist with the consolidation of collection storage at our offsite facility at Fyshwick
- Undertake tasks associated with the care and documentation of the collections and the building
- Assist with the accessioning of objects into the museum’s collection, including liaising with museum staff, cultural institutions, and donors
- Provide administrative assistance associated with the operational needs of the Heritage and Collections team
- Communicate the heritage values of the building and its collection and facilitate and supervise access to the collection
About you
We are looking for someone who has practical skills and experience in collection management, Experience in safe work practices applicable to collection management and has well-developed time management skills, and the ability to organise workloads, supervise contractors, and is able to meet competing priorities
You will have demonstrated ability to work effectively within a small team, share knowledge, and show initiative, have well-developed communication skills with a proven ability to build and sustain positive working relationships and the ability to use, or to quickly acquire knowledge of relevant applications including EMu collection management system.
