ABOUT THE POSITION:
The position is accountable for the provision of desktop support services for Museums Victoria so that staff have appropriate access to desktop computers which can effectively meet their employment requirements. More specifically duties will include:
- Implement replacement of 210 existing desktoplaptop ex-lease computers.
- Setup desktop computer systems – including both hardware and software – so they meet the requirements of staff and also comply with internal IT Services standards
- Ensure timely responses and produce technical remedies which meet the requirements of Museum staff while also adhering to internal IT Services standards.
- Liaise with IT technical personnel and MV staff and recommend improved technical and administrative procedures so as to ensure continuous improvement. Demonstrate initiative to recommend improvements within IT Services.
- Provide voice support services to staff including technical support, training and recommendations on appropriate technology.
- Maintain IT records including Help Desk requests and solutions and technical documentation
- Comply with Museums Victoria’s policies and procedures and with relevant legislation and regulations.
Notable skills and experiences:
- A sound knowledge of computer desktop and notebook hardware
- A sound knowledge of PC software including the Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Some MAC computer experience would be beneficial
