The Museum of Applied Arts and Science (MAAS) is Australia’s contemporary museum for excellence and innovation in applied arts and sciences and is uniquely placed to use its collections, disciplines and ideas to demonstrate how applied arts and sciences impact Australia and the world.

This role sits within the Digital and Technology department and specifically within the ICT unit which is responsible for providing key infrastructure systems that support the Museum’s program and business needs.

This is an exciting time for the ICT unit as it aims to create a more agile infrastructure within the Museum. This role will play a key part in this by being directly responsible for the support and migration of ICT systems to a number of different platforms (physical, virtual) and different locations (on-premise, GovDC, cloud).

For this role we are looking for a switched on systems administrator that enjoys thinking on their feet and solving complex problems. You must be able to work in a fast paced and agile environment and be willing to embrace new and modern systems.

Question 1 – Provide an example of when you have used your administrative knowledge of operating systems to optimize the network. What did you do, why did you choose that option, was it a success?

Question 2 – Provide an example of how you have transitioned an on-premise system/technology to a hosted environment. Please describe your role in the transition, any challenges encountered during the migration. How would you improve the process for future migrations to minimse the challenges?
