About the Australian Museum

The Australian Museum operates within the NSW Department of Justice. The Museum provides access, engagement and scientific research to increase our understanding of natural history and culture, particularly of the Australasian region. The Australian Museum is the first museum in Australia; founded in 1827 its mission is to inspire exploration, understanding and care for our world. The Australian Museum is at an exciting time in its evolution with transformational development works underway and significant plans for the future expansion of the Museum.

About the role

The primary purpose of this role is to research, design, develop and deliver Education Programs for education groups, visiting the Museum and to ensure that an enjoyable and positive learning experience is provided.  This identified position will liaise with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) communities. This position also delivers professional development courses and provides information using the Museum’s web and outreach services to effectively communicate culture and science to education groups and contributes to the Museum’s overall public program and education initiatives.
