ABOUT THE POSITION:
The purpose of this role is to develop and maintain a strategic overview of Museums Victoria’s technology environment including its core infrastructure, end user compute, and managed operating environment, with particular emphasis on the forward planning, scheduling, delivery, procurement and operational management and support, of a secure, cost-effective and sustainable service delivery environment to enable the efficient delivery of secure core services to support Museum Victoria’s operations.
Working with Museums Victoria Technology team, core functions of this position include:
- Lead the planning, procurement, implementation, and management of Museum’s Victoria’s service delivery platforms including core infrastructure, managed operating environment, network management, data transfer and storage management to ensure secure and continuous operations to meet the evolving requirements of Museums Victoria
- Develop and strategically manage Museum Victoria’s technology environment, including the development of a managed operating environment, mobilising the workforce, and delivering secure core services to staff working both remotely and in the office
- Lead and contribute to policy development and implementation of continuously evolving cyber security roadmaps, including threat prevention, business continuity, and disaster recovery systems and processes that are documented, tested, and maintained.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on complex issues in relation to core infrastructure, service delivery platforms, cyber risks and mitigations, change control and management
- Provide expert advice and strategic leadership to Museums Victoria on cyber security threats and mitigations, particularly in relation to industry standards and technology developments to contribute to departmental risk registers, internal and external audits, departmental budgets, and strategic plans and roadmaps.
- Contribute and lead to the planning and delivery of complex tenders, licencing, contracts and relationships with key external service providers to achieve cost-effective solutions and services, on premises and in the cloud, to meet agreed objectives
Relevant skills and attributes:
- Demonstrated expertise and proven ability providing senior technical leadership and strategic management in the sustainable delivery of core infrastructure, service delivery platforms, managed operating environments, and cyber security services
- Extensive demonstrable knowledge and experience in the management of Microsoft servers, storage, networks, and application environments, including cloud services and end user compute, providing a consistent and repeatable end user experience.
- Demonstrated capability and possession of strong conceptual knowledge of cybersecurity standards, risks, mitigations and remediations and their practical application to achieve risk-managed ICT service delivery
- Demonstrated technical expertise and leadership experience including extensive teamwork skills at a senior level, together with the ability to collaboratively resolve problems to achieve desired outcomes and to deliver customer-focused services.
- Demonstrated extensive experience managing and contributing to technical, cybersecurity and business projects including the ability to strategically plan, negotiate schedules, priorities, and outcomes, develop plans, delegate tasks, report progress and deliver on agreed outcomes and schedules within budget.
- Demonstrated high level skills in relationship management, influencing, negotiating, consulting, and communicating, both oral and written, on complex issues including effective expectations management in an environment of conflicting priorities.
- Demonstrated high level of competence in developing documentation, managing procurement and selection processes, negotiating agreements, and managing vendors.
- Highly developed communication skills which have been successfully used to collaborate, influence, and negotiate effectively at all levels
