Internal Communications and Change Manager

Auckland Museum is an influential, much-loved organisation at the centre of Auckland’s identity, committed to outstanding management of its extensive collections and the permanent and volunteer staff who tell the Museum’s stories.

As Internal Communications and Change Manager at Auckland Museum you will play a critical role in engaging the Museum’s staff and volunteers in order to achieve our Five-Year Strategic Plan and Future Museum ambitions.

You will be a strategic communicator with a passion for leading high-quality, integrated internal communications and working collaboratively across this busy organisation.

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Lead and manage the Museum’s internal communications strategy
  • Create inspiring communications and engagement plans with a focus on consultation and two-way feedback
  • Be a change advocate across all internal stakeholders including senior leadership
  • Have up to four-years senior level internal communications and change management experience
  • Be a team player with a can-do attitude who is able to efficiently manage current internal communication channels
  • Have a passion for employee wellbeing and diversity and inclusion
  • Have a general communications background – this would be advantageous to ensure an integrated communications mindset
  • Demonstrate exceptional digital, written, verbal and design communication skills
  • Understand the principles of equal opportunities, diversity management and the Treaty of Waitangi as they relate to the Museum environment
