Duties
The International Programs and Planning Officer:
- develops and implements the international engagement strategy to meet Museum priorities;
- assists the Director, the Museum’s Executive team and senior managers in developing partnerships with overseas cultural institutions, facilitating connections with international agencies, and negotiating outgoing international travelling exhibition venues and agreements;
- develops and supports the Museum’s relationship with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), including the development of new partnership opportunities, and the delivery of content and support for the Museum’s international exhibitions and displays in collaboration with DFAT;
- identifies and advances funding opportunities and other support for the Museum’s international engagement strategy. Prepares reports and papers, manages budgets, acquittals and schedules and reports to the Executive as required;
- assists the Governance Manager to develop and implement the Museum’s corporate planning and policy framework, including provision of supporting documentation and coordination for the corporate and business planning and reporting cycle, and coordination and dissemination of key corporate information including policies and procedures;
- supervises and manages team members in relation to the achievement of Governance Unit priorities and other tasks; and
- ensures that he/she has sufficient supervision, instruction and equipment to undertake his/her work safely and that employees in the Governance team are provided with sufficient supervision, instruction and equipment to enable them to perform their duties safely.
