Sovereign Hill is a dynamic group of museums presenting the mining, social, cultural and environmental heritage of the Ballarat region and its impact on Australia’s history. Interpretive theatre and interpretive communication skills are fundamental to our engagement with visitors in our museums, particularly in the Outdoor Museum. We are looking for a Casual and Part Time Interpreter to work in our Outdoor Museum. In this role you will be required to perform in our interpretive programs and play roles such as Lola Montez and Mrs Davidson, provide exceptional customer service to all visitors, and cover lunch breaks in the retail outlets.

You will also be required to participate in our afterhours night pantomimes performed for school groups throughout the year. To be successful you must have experience with performing and public speaking, retail and cash handling skills and you must be able to communicate efficiently with all staff and visitors of Sovereign Hill. We also require availability over school holiday periods including weekends and public holidays.
