Sovereign Hill is a dynamic group of museums presenting the mining, social, cultural and environmental heritage of the Ballarat region and its impact on Australia’s history.
The Finance and Corporate Services Division encompasses Administration, Finance, Payroll, Information Technology and Communications and People and Performance. The work carried out by the Finance and Corporate Services Division is essential to the Museums capacity to function efficiently and effectively.
The IT Systems & Network Administrator is responsible for all levels of support and maintenance of the information technology and communication systems, including but not limited to desktop computing equipment, virtualised and physical server environment, networking (wireless and wired), telephone, mobile phone and two-way communication systems, retail systems, internet and surveillance.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE WE ARE LOOKING FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE:
- A tertiary degree in Information Technology or 5 or more years related experience or equivalent combination
- Industry recognised certifications and/or demonstrated extensive experience in the following technologies:
– Server virtualisation and hosting
– LAN/WAN environments
– Microsoft OS, application & server families
– Apple desktop including recent versions of OS x and iOS
– Active directory services
– Data protection products
– Advanced ICT infrastructure - Must be self-motivated and show initiative and commitment to continuous improvement
- Knowledge of current trends in the specific field
- Demonstrated professional, positive and approachable attitude/demeanour and discretion including handling of confidential information
- Ability to take direction and instruction and act quickly and calmly
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain and produce technical documentation
- Ability to work under pressure during peak workload periods
- Willingness to work flexible hours and participate in an after-hours on call roster
