National Services Te Paerangi is a unit within Te Papa. Its mission is to strengthen the museum sector by providing practical and strategic help to museums and iwi throughout Aotearoa New Zealand. As part of this mission, we are looking to strengthen our responsiveness to iwi to help build capacity and increase iwi involvement in the future management of taonga, whether in collaboration with museums or as part of their own strategic development plans. Although based in Wellington, the successful applicant must be able to spend at least half of their time travelling beyond Wellington.

The aim of this role is to provide fa ce-to-face support, resources and advice to whānau, hapū and iwi, to collaborate with other institutions around the country, as well as communicate sector needs and issues back to National Services Te Paerangi.

Consideration will be given to applicants requiring flexible hours of work.

The salary range for this position is $59,000 to $74,000 with further room for progression through the band. Offers will be made within the range to reflect the skills and experience offered by the candidate and those required of the role, and internal relativities with other employees.

This is a permanent full-time (40 hours) role and all applicants must have the legal right to work in New Zealand. Prior to Te Papa confirming any offer of employment, pre-employment checks will be undertaken including criminal conviction history.
