Landscaping Team Leader Narmbool – Sovereign Hill
The Sovereign Hill Museums Association is a not-for profit community-based museum organisation that collects, researches and interprets the heritage of the goldrushes and the Ballarat region. The organisation includes Sovereign Hill Outdoor Museum, the Gold Museum, Sovereign Hill Hotel, AURA and Narmbool.
We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Narmbool Gardening Team as Landscaping Team Leader.

Narmbool has an abundance of unique heritage and decorative gardens where you can leave your mark in designing, developing and maintaining the flora. This position will provide team leadership and work closely as an active member of the Narmbool Gardening Team to work towards the care of the Narmbool Property.
The Successful Applicant must have:
- At least five years work in a Horticulture/Landscaping position or role post Apprenticeship
- Experience in staff management within a gardening/landscaping environment is essential
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Must display initiative and problem solving skills whilst being able to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated capacity for leading a team with a diverse range of people to achieve goals efficiently and effectively
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and manage projects
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to present in a professional manner with the general public
- A solid understanding of and commitment to ensuring a safe work environment
- Demonstrated ability in the use of a range of horticultural machinery and vehicular plant (chain saws, push-mowers, ride-on mowers, brush cutters, etc)
- Ability and willingness to work across flexible rosters including weekends, public holidays and school holidays if required
Qualifications and Checks:
- Relevant TAFE qualification in Horticulture and/or Landscape Gardening at a Certificate III level or higher
- Manual Transmission Driver’s Licence
- Current First Aid Level 2 Certificate
- Chainsaw Operators Certificate
- Agricultural Chemical User Permit or Farm Chemical Users Certificate or equivalent
- Working with Children Check
- Police Check
- Working at Heights Certificate would be highly desirable
- Covid Vaccinated
- Pre-Employment Medical
